Australian CSI Newsletter # 1 (Feb 2009)
CSI – Comprehension Strategies Instruction is an evidence-based literacy program that targets comprehension with support for vocabulary and fluency – the greatest needs in Years 4 and above. CSI supports teachers and students to interact, give and receive feedback about their learning (metacognition) and read widely across the subjects of English, science, mathematics, and social studies.
Each CSI kit contains 40 engaging whole-group digital texts for use on interactive or standard whiteboards, and 40 audio texts to accompany the cooperative learning activities for students.

Free Supplementary Australian Texts to Download!
CSI contains a number of US-based text topics, particularly in social studies. Despite this, many Australian teachers have found this to be no barrier for their students. For those teachers that do wish to focus on topics closer to home, there are now free supplementary Australian texts available on the CSI website. Please note that the texts need to be opened and viewed using the CSI interactive CDs within each kit. The texts can be downloaded from the members area. Membership sign-up is free and quick.

CSI-related videos uploaded to the new website!
Visit the website to view videos on how to use the digital texts. Learn some first-hand tips on using CSI with the interactive whiteboard. Listen to actual teachers talking about how the technology and engaging materials in CSI hav helped them and their students.
